Man Dies After Being Given Too Much Anesthesia During Dental Surgery: Coroner

A Lake County dentist is the subject of an investigation by the state’s attorney’s office after a patient died following a dental procedure in early June. According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, Corey Causey visited Dr. Aaron Swik at the Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons of Lake County facility on June 9 to have several teeth extracted.

Trial delayed for former principal accused of assaulting student

The trial for a former Kenosha Unified School District principal accused of having a sexual relationship with a student is again delayed. Curtiss Tolefree, 43, is charged with three counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff. He is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student when he was dean at Bradford High School in 2008. He later went on to be principal of Washington Middle School. He was charged in 2019 after the former student, identified as Jane Doe in the court filings, came forward with her allegations.

Antioch Police Announce a Pair of Gun Arrests in Separate Incidents

Tim Vander Tuuk, WLIP News (7-23-21) (Antioch, IL) Police in Antioch have announced a weapons arrest. Officials say an investigation on July 19th led to the arrest of Scott Sewell. The 37-year-old was said to be in possession of a stolen handgun, ammo, and a meth pipe when he was arrested. Sewell is now facing charges of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond has been set at 75-thousand-dollars, and Sewell is due back in court next Tuesday.
