Before Rosey Williams created Indie Flea, Tampa Bay’s wildly popular monthly street market, there was Dog Street. Back in the 1980s and ‘90s, the vintage store run by Williams’ parents was a staple of the 600 block of St. Petersburg’s Central Avenue. The Sunshine City was still sleepy back then, but there was a deep sense of community. And, along that strip of Central, lots of great vintage stores.

St. Petersburg extended its state of emergency after Hurricane Ian. Here’s why

ST. PETERSBURG — The worst of Hurricane Ian may have dodged St. Petersburg, but Mayor Ken Welch on Saturday night extended the city’s state of emergency. Former Massachusetts nurse facing up to 4 years in prison for stealing fentanyl, including from a patient

BOSTON – A former nurse pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court in Boston to diverting opioids from two Massachusetts hospitals. 33-year-old Lisa Tarr, of St. Petersburg, Fla., pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawfully obtaining controlled substances by fraud, deception and subterfuge. U.S. Senior District Court Judge Douglas P. Woodlock scheduled sentencing for Feb. 7, 2023. Tarr was charged by an Information on Sept. 12, 2022.
