Border Patrol Stops Truck, Finds 38 People Hiding Behind Rotting Fruit

The Border Patrol are arresting a truck driver after finding more than three-dozen people hiding behind pallets of rotting fruit inside his tractor-trailer. Agents at the Sarita checkpoint in Kenedy County stopped the truck early Saturday when a Border Patrol K-9 alerted them to something in the trailer. A secondary inspection found 38 people who were in the country illegally trying to hide behind the old fruit in the trailer.

One of the biggest events of the year in Kleberg and Kenedy County is the annual Kleberg-Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show. This weekend the livestock show kicks into high gear, and we encourage all area residents to get out to the J.K. Northway Expo Center and support the kids who are participating in this program.
