Missing Wisconsin woman possibly seen in Enid and Ponca City areas

The Enid Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating a missing Wisconsin woman who was last seen at a residence in Enid. Stephanie Rene Wallace, 23, of Spring Green, WI, was last seen at a residence on North Adams on June 5. She was reported missing to the Dodgeville Police Department in Wisconsin and has been missing from there since June 2. Enid Police is assisting the Dodgeville Police Department and began their own missing person investigation.

ENID — Enid police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing Wisconsin woman who may have been or still could be in the Kay County area. An Enid police official said today that Dodgeville, Wisconsin Police contacted Enid police on June 8 and said that Stephanie Rene Wallace, 23, was last seen in the Dodgeville area on June 2.

OSBI investigating death reported at Kay County Detention Center

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirms that agents were contacted last week by Kay County officials in regards to a death at the county jail. OSBI spokeswoman Brook Arbeitman said that Royce Verlin Wooten Jr., 57, was arrested on traffic warrants on June 2. He was reportedly transported to the county jail that day around 4:15 p.m. and pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m.

KAY COUNTY, Okla. — A 14-year-old from North Dakota died after a multivehicle crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 40 in Kay County. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report, a 2005 Volvo semi-truck and a 2010 Jeep Wrangler were traveling south in the outside lane of I-35 around 2:35 p.m. when the semi-truck struck the Wrangler from behind. The Wrangler left the road and overturned, causing all three people in the vehicle to be ejected.

Thomas Danny Johnstone

Body Thomas “Danny” Johnstone passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma surrounded by the love of his close family. Danny was the 14th child born to Willie Barnes “W.B.” Johnstone and Octavia Walker Johnstone on January 14, 1933, in Hunnewell, Kansas. He grew up and spent most of his life in northern Oklahoma. During his early adulthood he worked as an oil driller. On February 14, 1953, he married Glenda Bilyeu and to that union were born two children, Pamela, and Brett. After the birth of his children, he began a career of law enforcement in Kay County, Oklahoma. Over 10 years he worked his way from jailer to Sheriff where he held office for another 10 years. On August 2, 1980, Danny married the love of his life, Dottie Christy, and became the stepfather to her two children, Mark, and Kimberly Woolley. After retiring from his role as sheriff, Danny worked several other jobs to fill his time. He greatly enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, gardening, and anything else outdoors. He was proud to pass his traditions and knowledge of those things down to his children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Danny was also a proud member of several organizations including the Northern Oklahoma Southern Kansas Peace Officers and The Noon Lions Club.
