Local Table moves to new Katy location

KATY (Covering Katy News) - Local Table and Local Bar have a new location at 24033 Cinco Ranch Boulevard, near Westheimer Parkway. The original location at the Villagio Town Center had served Katy since 2016 but is now closed. The Villagio is at the Corner of Peek Road and Westheimer Parkway.

Applications open for Katy ISD Community Bond Advisory Committee

KATY, TX (Covering Katy News) – Katy ISD is seeking volunteers to serve on its Community Bond Advisory Committee to explore current and future student and school needs. The 150-member committee comprised of parents, business partners, senior citizens, staff, and other community members, will determine if a November 2023 schools bond package is needed. The application to serve on the CBAC is open until February 15 and was emailed to addresses community members have on file with the District.

Katy ISD Ensemble Students Recognized with Highest Texas Music Award

“Every fall hundreds of Katy ISD ensemble students begin the competition process at their TMEA region and advance to compete against other student musicians from other regions,” said Damon Archer, Executive Director of the Katy ISD Fine Arts Department. “Only the top 2.6 percent of Texas students who audition become All-State Musicians,” added Archer.

First phase of Katy Silos revitalization on track

The new owner of the Katy Silos plans for a summer grand opening for the first phase of the revitalized landmark. This includes a 33,500-square-foot beer garden, a museum and a gift shop.

Two dead, three injured in Leon County crash

LEON COUNTY, Texas (FOX 44) – Two people are dead and three more are injured after a crash on Highway 79 in Leon County. The Texas Department of Public Safety tells FOX 44 News that at approximately 2:20 p.m. Saturday a 2014 Dodge was traveling southbound, hydroplaned, went into the northbound lane, and was struck by a 2021 Infinity traveling northbound.
