GoPowercat publisher Tim Fitzgerald delivers his thoughts on the day's notable headlines from Kansas State athletics and the sports world. Here is what is on today's agenda:. The Big Ten is considering ditching its divisions and instead going to a less structured manner of scheduling its football season with only eight conference games that leaves room for an added non-conference game to be filled with its scheduling alliance with the Pac-12 and ACC. As you probably know, Fitz loves to talk about scheduling and he loves the idea of no divisions but points out that overcoming scheduling 14 members is not easy, although at least the Big Ten is trying to make it better.

LSU has a new coaching staff, some players back, and a fresh start. That fresh start may be hard for a while, but it is sorely needed. That said, take nothing from this game. Nothing but the competition level and fun displayed by Jontre Kirklin. He’s a legend for doing that. Thus, this will really all be about Jontre Kirklin.
