Lindsborg, Kansas, a city of 3,700 is seeking qualified enthusiastic applicants to fill a full-time police officer position for our growing and diverse community. Minimum requirements: U.S. Citizen, High School Diploma or Equivalent, eyesight correctable to 20/20, and capable of obtaining a Kansas drivers license. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. Though we are a small community, we offer a competitive pay and benefits package. Applicants will undergo a testing process which include a basic written examination, interview process, thorough background investigation, physical agility and medical examination, drug test, psychological exam and may be required to undergo a polygraph or VSA examination. Lindsborg, Kan. – Vincent Grigsby has been named Interim Head Football Coach, effective immediately following Coach Carter’s resignation. Coach Grigsby served as an Offensive Line Coach, Run Game Coordinator, and Game Management Assistant during 2021-2022. Prior to his time at Bethany, Coach Grigsby had collegiate coaching experience at El Camino College in Torrance, Calif., where he was the Offensive Line Coach. In addition, he was the Offensive Line Coach at Santa Monica College. Outside of collegiate football, Coach Grigsby has significant high school coaching experience as both Offensive Line Coach and Offensive Coordinator.

The local Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program continues to expand its reach and now serves children with autism in Lyons and Larned. ABA is designed for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Sunflower Early Education Center, Great Bend, is one of the few entities in Kansas that offers the specialized therapies.

Fire starts near battery, destroys tractor south of Brookville

A blaze destroyed a $40,000 tractor late Monday night south of Brookville. Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that Ronald Hazelton, McPherson, was driving his 1989 Ford 7710 diesel tractor in a field on the east side of the 6500 block of S. Brookville Road just before 11:30 p.m. Monday when a fire started near the battery of the tractor. That area of S. Brookville Road is on the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range, Soldan noted.
