Woman charged in the death of her baby

Sara Marie Declusin, age 28, was charged with second degree manslaughter and endangering a child after her five-month-old baby died while in her care. According to the criminal complaint filed by the Kanabec County Attorney’s Office, deputies were called to Declusin’s apartment in Mora the morning of Jan. 22 where they found the child pale and not breathing. CPR was administered and the baby was taken to Welia Health hospital.

A driver in the crash that killed Mia Besemann in December has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide, reckless driving and unlawful passing. According to the criminal complaint filed by the Kanabec County Attorney’s Office, Christopher Greg Stafford, 47, of Braham was driving north on Highway 65 in a company pickup truck when the incident occurred.
