The following is a summary of recent incident reports made to the Flower Mound Police Department as compiled by the staff of The CTG:. On Aug. 3 at 3:13 p.m., police responded to the 3300 block of Camden Drive to reports of a man throwing things at cars and banging on neighbors’ doors. The 49-year-old man was exhibiting signs of mania, according to police. He had been riding his bike all over town and denying water, despite temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, and police deemed him a danger to himself. Police detained him, but he immediately resisted them, spitting on two of them, and damaged a police vehicle door when he kicked it. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Pedestrians killed in Lewisville crash

Two pedestrians died Tuesday morning after they were struck by a vehicle in Lewisville, according to a Lewisville Police Department spokesman. About 6:15 a.m., a driver heading east on FM 3040 struck both pedestrians at the intersection of Rockbrook Drive. The driver, a man in his 60s, stopped at the scene, according to LPD.

Another Denton Square staple is closing

McBride Music & Pawn Shop announced Monday that it is closing its doors this week after 54 years of business in Denton County. The Denton Square staple’s last day open will be Friday, followed by a two-day liquidation sale this weekend. After Wednesday, any remaining loans will be transferred to Allstate Pawn in Denton. Ownership did not give a reason for the closure.

Crawford County Fatal

A non-traffic fatal crash occurred yesterday (Monday) morning in Crawford County. 29-year-old Lewisville, Texas resident Zach Conover was headed westbound on I-44 at mile marker 222.4 in his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado when he encountered a pedestrian who entered the roadway. At 1:10 AM, the truck struck 18-year-old Kaitlyn Rhoads of Sullivan, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and travel off the right side of the roadway. Rhoads was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:20 AM. This is the fourth fatality in September, and the 28th fatality in 2022 for troop I.
