Johnson Co Woman Arrested after Attacking Family Member

A Johnson Co woman was arrested over the weekend on a felony assault charge, after she allegedly attacked a family member. According to reports, the incident happened Saturday night in Paintsville when the woman, identified as 49 year-old Sheila Wells of Paintsville and her male cousin were allegedly drinking, but when he got up to leave, he said she attacked him with a large kitchen knife and stabbed him in the throat and shoulder. Wells allegedly admitted to Police that she did cut the man and he wasn’t violent and didn’t threaten her in anyway. Sheila Wells was arrested Saturday night by the Paintsville Police Dept. and has been charged with first-degree assault. She was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

A woman out of Johnson County is now in jail after she picked up a felony assault charge. This coming after she allegedly attacked her cousin with a knife on Saturday night. Officers spoke with the victim, who told them they had come to see their cousin, identified as 49-year-old Sheila Wells, of Paintsville. The two allegedly shared a six pack of beer. When the victim got up to leave, Wells is said to have stabbed him in the neck and shoulder with a large kitchen knife.

Anonymous Tip Leads to Arrest and the Recovery of Stolen Items

According to the Johnson Co Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 11 AM on Sunday, May 15th, the JCSO received an anonymous tip concerning the location of a male subject with indictment warrants. Information also indicated that stolen property could possibly be found at the same location. Sheriff Doug Saylor and Deputies responded to the provided location and identified a vehicle that had reportedly been driven by the person of interest, along with a U-Haul trailer. Previous reports of a burglary involving a U-Haul trailer had been reported and were being investigated by JCSO. After making contact with a male subject inside the residence, he was identified as Brandon Hensley.
