COVID-19 LIVE UPDATES: Missouri, Kansas cases continue to rise

Here are the latest COVID-19 updates around the Kansas City metro area, and in Kansas and Missouri. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said Wednesday the state has 461,163 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and there have been 6,673 deaths since the outbreak started. Kansas only updates its case totals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Johnson County Sheriff’s Office offers employees free COVID-19 antibody test

OLATHE, Kan. — The Johnson County, Kansas Sheriff’s Office is working with an antibody testing company to offer free COVID-19 antibody testing to all employees. According to the sheriff’s office, AditxtScore is an immune monitoring technology that is the only known antibody test that will provide an accurate reading someone’s T-cell level and an accurate reading of COVID-19 immunity.

Johnson County sheriff partners with biotech company to offer COVID-19 antibody tests

Johnson County Sheriff Calvin Hayden announced on Tuesday his office will work with a biotech company to allow employees to test their immunity to COVID-19. Aditxt, the biotech company the sheriff’s office is partnering with, will draw blood from users and test their antibody levels against COVID-19. Civilian and sworn staff can access the test for free to check their immunity to the virus.

BOE changes USD 231 mask mandates

Gardner Edgerton School Board members voted 6-0 Tuesday night to allow 9 through 12 graders an option to wear masks or not starting November 18. Students grade 7 and 8 will have the option beginning December 1st after the Thanksgiving break. They will have to wear masks outside their individual classrooms if they attend a school building shared with younger students.
