Police are seeking the public's help in locating three people they say broke into a Hardeeville home and stole weapons, jewelry and several puppies. Jasper County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jeff Crosby said officers responded May 12 to a reported residential burglary at Oakwood Drive. He said the burglary happened during the day and no one had been at home.

Several award winners were recognized during the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce's 32nd annual Jasper on the Move event April 28 at Legacy Oaks Preserve in Ridgeland. The Sergeant Jasper Award, named for the Revolutionary War hero and namesake of Jasper County, was presented to John M. Carroll. The identity of a couple who anonymously donated millions of dollars to several local counties has been revealed, but only after that couple has died. The Coastal Community Foundation has announced that Alan and Joanne Moses, of Dataw Island, are the longtime anonymous couple who created The Beaufort Fund, which is the largest-ever grant fund. The fund is a part of the Coastal Community Foundation and has given more than $11 million to hundreds of grant recipients in Colleton, Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper counties.
