Damon Scott charged with battery after assault witnessed

A Bainbridge man was arrested by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. Damon Jay Scott was arrested on one count of battery after assaulting an employee of the V8P Shop Tuesday morning. According to Bainbridge Public Safety’s official report, the victim had arrived at the shop for work, when Scott backed his vehicle up and nearly struck hers. According to the victim, she honked her horn to let Scott know she was behind him.

110 new jobs added to Dothan area in expansion at medical company

A medical manufacturer facility is seeing sharp growth in the Dothan area with plans announced Tuesday to add 110 jobs to the project first announced two years ago. The project began with 70 jobs and a $9.5 million investment in 2020 by Global Resources International and its Advanced Products Solutions subsidiary.

Dothan Man Charged with Armed Robbery

On 8/4/2022, a physical altercation took place between a victim and two suspects over property in the 200 block of Fortner Street. During the physical altercation, one suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim in the arm. The victim underwent surgery for the non-life threatening injury and is expected to make a full recovery. One suspect, Kevone Devontay Smith, 21 years old of Dothan, has been arrested and charged with one count of Robbery First Degree. His bond was set at $60,000.00.

Medical products maker growing with new 110 jobs in Houston County

Mark Fellows, vice president at GRI-APS, said the additional 110 jobs in Houston County will ramp up over the next 90 days. “These growth plans by Global Resources International and Advanced Product Solutions represent a significant development for the Wiregrass region,” said Greg Canfield, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce.
