JACKSON – The governing body, support staff and audience members witnessed the swearing in of a new township clerk and councilwoman during a recent Council meeting. Samara O’Neill became the newest member of the governing body early in the session. Her husband Dan held the Bible as Deputy Clerk Mary Moss administered the oath of office.

TOMS RIVER: THREE CAR ACCIDENT LEADS TO ONE ARREST

Emergency personnel was at the scene of an earlier three car accident at the intersection of Washington and Clifton. One person was taken by ambulance to the hospital from the scene and a second was put in handcuffs and placed in the back of a patrol car. No additional information is available at this time.

TOMS RIVER: ***UPDATE*** ACCIDENT WITH TRACTOR TRAILER TAKING DOWN FIVE POLES AND TEARING ELECTRIC LINES FROM HOUSES

Earlier today we reported a serious accident on Chestnut Street where a tractor trailer hit and took out five poles with live electrical wires on the road and trapping people in vehicles. Electric lines were pulled from multiple houses. We are happy to say that everyone was safely evacuated from their vehicles without any reports of injuries. It is unknown how long occupants in this area will be without power due to the extent of the damage to be repaired. Photos of the scene show how seriously this accident has impacted the utility poles and lines.

Man Charged With Murder In Ocean County Shooting

TOMS RIVER – A Monmouth County man has been charged with murder after shooting a man and injuring two others at a hookah lounge, officials said. Eric Manzanares, 22, of Asbury Park, has been charged with Murder in connection to the death of Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick Township.
