CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - A Carbondale man has been charged with home invasion and other related charges after an incident that occurred in May. At approximately 11:20 a.m. on May 1, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a home invasion that occurred at a residence just outside of Carbondale city limits.

Grand jury indicts Carbondale man accused of home invasion, sexual assault of elderly victim

CARBONDALE, IL — A Carbondale, Illinois, man faces multiple felony charges after prosecutors say he broke into an elderly woman's home and repeatedly sexually assaulted her. The 30-year-old man, Kyle C. Locklear, is accused of breaking into the woman's home just outside the Carbondale city limits, holding her their against her will overnight and assaulting her. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting the incident around 11:20 a.m. on May 1. Deputies arrested Locklear later that day.

Carbondale man indicted on 8 felonies, including sexual assault of an elderly person

A Carbondale man has been indicted on multiple felony charges, including home invasion and aggravated sexual assault of a person over 60-years-old. 30-year-old Kyle Locklear, of Carbondale, was indicted May 20 on eight felony charges. He was indicted on four charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a person over the age of 60, two counts of home invasion, and one count each of unlawful restraint and residential burglary. The charges stem from a May 1 home invasion. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies were called at 11:20 a.m. on May 1 to a residence just outside of Carbondale city limits in Jackson County, IL. There were 70 offenders released on parole during 2020 that live in Jackson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun. The data shows 62 men and eight women were released in Jackson County. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 35. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man convicted of a crime against justice in 2019, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2014.
