FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Florence Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing teen. According to FPD, 15-year-old Victoria McDonald was reported missing on Tuesday, Jan. 25. She was last seen in the area of Villiage Parc Apartments in Florence. According to ALEA, the teen has tattoos of a cross on her left wrist, a heart with wings on her left thigh and a face with “x’s” on her left ankle.

Florence unveils new logo, slogan

FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) - The City of Florence has a brand new logo and slogan. In a Facebook video, the city unveiled both the logo and slogan to the public. The logo is an F with an exclamation point making up the “L” and “O” in Florence. The slogan is “Live for More.” Reactions were immediate to the unveiling leading to over 1,000 comments in the first 12 hours after the release.

Florence logo unveiling triggers backlash

FLORENCE — Amid a huge backlash on social media over the city's new branding and logo, Florence officials stressed Wednesday they plan to use four types of logos. The turmoil was reminiscent of public pushback on a branding slogan for Decatur — "A Little Different" — that cost the city $117,000 in 2019 and was quickly mothballed. The Decatur City Council this month retained local firm Red Sage Communications to coordinate a marketing campaign that will include, according to the contract, "development of key messages, tagline and campaign logo.”
