A Waukegan woman was arrested after allegedly driving drunk with a child in her car and committing a hit-and-run crash with injuries in Waukegan. Aniaha A. Bennett, 24, of the 200 block of Julian Street in Waukegan, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the life of a child and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.

A mattress company has crowned Geneva as Illinois' most coffee-obsessed city following new research. The study by sleep experts Zoma Sleep found Geneva has the highest ratio of coffee shops to people, with 13 dedicated coffee outlets serving a population of 21,674 residents. That equates to one coffee shop for every 1,667 people in town, the highest ratio out of the 20 Illinois communities included in the study.

East Dundee teen convicted in fatal shooting of Carpentersville man

An East Dundee teen has been convicted of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at a Carpentersville apartment complex. Devon C. Coleman, 18, and two others, Phillip Walker, 18, of Carpentersville, and Joel V. Leitner, 23, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, were charged with first-degree murder in the June 2020 death of Jordan Durr, 27, of Carpentersville.
