Jury recommends 70 year sentence for man who murdered Big Clifty woman

A Radcliff man found guilty of murdering a Big Clifty woman has been sentenced in a Hardin County courtroom. After taking only 90 minutes on Friday to find 32-year-old Joseph Eugene Meredith guilty of killing 27-year-old Angela Dawn Kerr in March 2021, the jury recommended a sentence of 30 years on the murder charge, 20 years on the possession of a handgun by a convicted felon count and 20 years for abuse of a corpse, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.

James F. Stiff, age 92 of Brandenburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at All About Homes Assisted Living in Brandenburg. He was born June 21, 1930 to the late James Estel and Mary Engelbert Hardesty Stiff. He was also preceded in death by wife, Rebecca Stiff; his son, Thomas Ray Stiff; a granddaughter; two infant brothers; and his sister, Estella Mattingly.

Good Samaritan Center Commodity Distribution Next Week

HARDINSBURG (08/10/22) — The Good Samaritan Center’s August Commodity Distribution will be next Monday through Thursday (08/15-08/18) from 8:30am to 12noon each. Drivers are requested to pull up at the overhead at the side of the building and remain in your vehicle. In picking up for others, you must bring a signed permission slip and proof of Breckinridge County address, per USDA rules.

A Leitchfield man has been jailed on drug charges after falsely claiming he killed someone and dumped the body in a pond in Anneta. Sunday morning at approximately 3:50, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jason Luedke responded to the 2300 block of Bloomington Road after a woman reported to police that 58-year-old Richard L. Scott had told her “he had murdered someone and thrown the body in a pond,” according to the arrest citation.

Wife of popular Elizabethtown PD officer killed in accident at Bardstown airport

The wife of one of the Elizabethtown Police Department’s Public Affairs Officers has been killed in an accident involving a plane at Samuel Field, an airport in Bardstown. Feleshia Denham, 37, of Glendale, was killed Sunday afternoon when she exited a plane she had been a passenger on during a flight from Elizabethtown. The Nelson County Coroner’s Office told news outlets that when Denham got out of the plane to change seats she walked into a propeller.
