Iredell-Statesville Schools responding to increased summer school demand

There are more than 1,800 children taking part in Iredell-Statesville Schools’ summer school, and that number is growing, according to the school system. I-SS planned on roughly 1,300 attendees as it reached out to students and parents in May, but the realities of trying to graduate on time have hit a number of students and their families, Boen Nutting, director of communications and development, said.

In spite of a global pandemic, we finished strong

In August 2020, students started the school year from their homes, something we never dreamed could happen. We all limped through the first weeks of the school year together, some more successfully than others. Kindergarten through fifth grade returned to in-person learning the first week of October. Grades six-12 continued to attend only two days a week until the spring.

The Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education approved a plan to establish an I-SS Virtual Academy for the 2021-22 school year. Iredell County Road Surfacing Begins Wednesday

MOORESVILLE – Beginning this week, a major state highway in Iredell County will have lanes closed for a resurfacing project. Starting Wednesday, lanes will be closed along a 1.1-mile multi-lane section of N.C. 150 between Interstate 77 and west of Morrison Plantation Parkway/Ervin Road while crews mill and resurface the road. This is part of the Iredell County Resurfacing Contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation in 2019.
