Two hurt in single-vehicle rollover crash in Linn County

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Two people were taken to the hospital after an early Wednesday afternoon crash outside of Ely, according to law enforcement officials. At around 1:20 p.m., the Linn County Sheriff’s Office was sent to a report of a crash involving a 1996 Honda Civic in the 3800 block of Hoosier Creek Road. Deputies believe that the driver of the vehicle lost control and overcorrected, leading to the car entering the ditch and flipping over onto its roof in a nearby field.

Three weekend accidents claim lives in Davenport, Urbandale, near Iowa City

At least three people died in separate accidents on Iowa’s roads over the weekend. Davenport police say a motorcyclist was speeding on Friday night, lost control, hit a tree and the 51-year-old man was killed. In the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale, police say a bicyclist was hit by a car and killed Sunday morning. He’s identified as 55-year-old Eric Lindberg of Des Moines. There’s no word on charges against the driver.

MILLVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - One person died in a single-vehicle crash in Clayton County on Saturday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials. At around 12:30 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol was sent to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle near the corner of Great River Road and Pleasant Avenue. Deputies believe that the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by Barry Woodson, 62, of Marion, was heading north and lost control on a right-hand curve. The vehicle entered a ditch on the west side of the road, with a tree branch hitting Woodson in the head and neck area.
