Colorado Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Colorado man was arrested in the early morning hours Thursday following a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 30 west of U.S. 31 in Marshall County. A deputy from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted the traffic stop due to alleged traffic violations. K9 Bear was deployed to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle when the K9 reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotics.

Northern Indiana Man Arrested for Entering Capitol on Jan. 6

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (WISH) — A northern Indiana man faces federal charges for entering the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot. Ian Horvath of Plymouth called the FBI in September 2021 to report that he was pictured in “wanted” photos on the FBI’s website. Horvath surrendered to authorities on Wednesday.

NAPPANEE, Ind. - One man died following a two-vehicle crash on Market Street Monday morning, according to the Nappanee Police Department. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Investigates Sunday Crash

One driver was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident in Marshall County Sunday, August 14. Deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and emergency responders were dispatched to the accident in the area of U.S. 31 and 19th Road. Police say Linda Handelsman of Bloomington told officers that she fell asleep while driving south on U.S. 31 in the left lane. Witnesses stated that the vehicle crossed through the median from the left southbound lanes and entered northbound traffic on U.S. 31, according to police. Thomas Szymanski, Jr. of Granger said he was unable to avoid the collision.
