The school said the decision comes after the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, including the high rate of transmission in Mecklenburg County, according to health officials.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – President Joe Biden is pitching new incentives to get more Americans vaccinated against COVID-19. On Thursday, Biden asked all states to start offering $100 to entice people to get the shot. Biden also announced all federal employees must prove being vaccinated against COVID-19 or face strict protocols, like masking and frequent COVID-19 tests. The new measures come amid a rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths in the U.S. The vast majority of those individuals with severe cases of COVID-19 are unvaccinated.
