Trigg County Ham Festival Announces Headlining Music Act

With the annual Trigg County Country Ham Festival two months away, organizers have begun to announce the entertainment that will headline the weekend in downtown Cadiz. According to a post on the Ham Festival’s Facebook page, Rubiks Groove will be the headlining act on Saturday night at a yet-to-be-announced location in downtown Cadiz.

Oak Grove fatal shooting suspect arraigned

Arraignment was held in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon for Tyron Holt, the man accused in the May fatal shooting death of Gailon Toler in Oak Grove. Holt appeared alongside public defender Rick Sanborne, who entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf and also informed the court they intend to file a motion for bond modification soon. Judge Andrew Self set a pretrial conference several weeks out to give everyone time to file motions and responses accordingly.

Third Defender In Three Months Enters Into Curtis Case

The suggestion of mediation in the case against Cadiz woman Shaylynn Curtis will need careful consideration from Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins. Such discussion took place during Wednesday’s afternoon session of Trigg County Circuit Court, in which Public Defender Katie Riley made her first appearance as defender for Curtis.

Hopkinsville man federally indicted on drug trafficking, firearm offenses

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment for drug trafficking and firearm related offenses against a Hopkinsville man. According to a news release, the federal grand jury has indicted 38-year-old Buddy Chambless of Hopkinsville with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. The investigation reportedly revealed over a dozen firearms, which were seized.

Two arrested on felony theft warrants

Two people were arrested by Hopkinsville police Tuesday night on felony theft charges. Warrants allege 36-year old Kelly North and 38-year old Nicholas North of Hopkinsville stole a refrigerator and stove from a rental home when they were evicted earlier this summer. Hopkinsville Company Reports Theft

A Hopkinsville business reported a theft of corn meal Tuesday afternoon. Hopkinsville Police say between June 6th and July 6th someone failed to pay for $42,534 worth of corn meal from Hopkinsville Milling Company. No arrest has been made but the report lists the charge as theft by deception.
