Calexico Agents Arrest an Individual with Homicide Conviction

CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an undocumented individual with multiple prior convictions including homicide. On September 17, at approximately 6:38 a.m., agents apprehended a group of four individuals who illegally entered the United States through the New River, in the city of Calexico. It was determined that none of the individuals had proper documentation to be legally present in the U.S. The individuals were placed under arrest and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center.

ECPD makes arrest in incident involving social media post

EL CENTRO — On Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 7:40 a.m., the El Centro Police Department became aware of a threat of violence at Southwest High School. The threat was posted on a social media platform and shared amongst students at the school. The post was reported to the police department by a concerned parent, according to a press release by the El Centro Police Department. Officers immediately responded to the school and began working with school officials. This is the second threat this week.
