Jury selection begins in massive Treasure Valley counterfeit cellphones trial

BOISE, Idaho — The trial for a Treasure Valley family accused of making millions in a massive counterfeit cellphone scheme began Monday. Pavel Babichenko, Gennady Babichenko, Piotr Babichenko, Timofey Babichenko, Kristina Babichenko, Natalya Babichenko, Anna Iyerusalimets, Mikhail Iyerusalimets and David Bibikov are charged with dozens of felonies ranging from mail fraud and wire fraud to trafficking in counterfeit goods, conspiracy, and money laundering in the case.

Here's who is performing at the 2021 Boise Pride Festival

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Pride Festival announced the lineup for the upcoming event on Friday. The Pride Festival is set to take place between Sept. 10-12, 2021. After being canceled last year and postponed until September this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival expanded from two to three days. The traditional fireworks will take place at the Capitol building in downtown Boise on Friday and the festival will take place on Sept. 11-12. The Pride parade will be on Sunday, Sept. 12.

'LOVE always wins': Boise community steps up to replace stolen, damaged Pride flags

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise community is proving that love outweighs hate after Pride flags were stolen and damaged in the North End. Boise Police responded to reports of a theft on Harrison Boulevard early Friday morning. Officers were immediately able to find the suspect, 18-year-old Gage Burlile. He was taken to the Ada County Jail and charged with misdemeanor petit theft.

Idaho dog recovering after being shot multiple times

GOODING COUNTY, Idaho — A dog is expected to make a full recovery after he was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Gooding County earlier this month. Dave Wright, the rescue coordinator at Friends Furever Animal Rescue in Twin Falls, said the black retriever he calls Garth had been shot with a shotgun, a pellet gun, and a .22, leaving him riddled with ammunition and near death.
