“It’s a pirate’s life for me” is this year’s theme for the Holstein Kinderfest celebration this Thursday through Saturday, June 17-19. Thursday, June 17, activities at the State Theatre include: at 6 p.m., burgers by the Ida County Cattlemen’s Association and at 7 p.m. a free showing of “The Goonies” at the theatre. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office recently picked up a new recruit. Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio Raider is a pure-bred German Shepherd dog, who is about three months old, and they got him from Blitzkrieg Kennels in Ida County, Iowa. Ida, Yankton counties report COVID-19-related deaths

SIOUX CITY -- Ida County, Iowa, and Yankton County, South Dakota, have reported additional COVID-19-related deaths. Ida County added one new death, bringing its total to 35, while Yankton County's death toll increased by two to 33. As of Thursday afternoon, Ida County had 1,014 total positive tests and Yankton County had 3,090 total cases of the virus, according to state data.

The Ida Grove City Council discussed West Sixth Street and heard from Sheriff Wade Harriman regarding countywide law funding May 3.
