THE TENNESSEE OUTDOORS YOUTH SUMMIT FIELD DAY WILL BE HELD JULY 10TH AT BUFFALO RIDGE REFUGE IN HUMPHREYS COUNTY. THE EVENT IS GENERALLY A WEEK-LONG EVENT BUT HAS BEN CONDENSED TO A ONE DAY SCHEDULE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. ‘Fearing the worst, hoping for the best,’ Middle Tennessee woman with disabilities missing for 48 days

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – Investigators are fearing the worst for a missing woman with disabilities in Humphreys County. Janie Malady has been missing for 48 days. The 27-year-old was last seen walking down Porch Reed Road just outside of Waverly on April 10. Investigators say it was around 3 in the afternoon and some two hours later her cellphone terminated communication in the same area.

NASHVILLE --- A Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Field Day will be held Saturday, June 5 at Buffalo Ridge Refugee in Humphreys County. The event is hosted by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and is conducted in a relaxed atmosphere. The BOW workshop is an opportunity for those 18 or older to learn outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing.

Obituary: Grady Bee Fletcher

Grady Bee Fletcher, 85, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021 while surrounded by family. Mr. Fletcher was born in Humphreys County, Tennessee, on Dec. 3, 1935. He attended school in Pegram before moving to Nashville to work in the shoe business at Feigenbaum Shoes. Over the next 62 years, he worked for McClures, Karl’s Shoes, Harveys Department Store and Jensen Shoes and opened his own Fletcher’s Comfort Shoes Inc. in Franklin in 1998.

WAVERLY, TN (WSMV) - The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for a woman who was reported missing on April 10. Janie Malady, 27, was last seen near her home on Porch Reed Road north of Waverly on April 10. Authorities conducted an extensive ground, K-9 and aerial searches in the areas identified by the investigation as being most prudent, the sheriff’s office said.
