Sedalia Police Reports For September 20, 2021

This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Early Monday morning, Officers observed a male subject riding his bicycle with no lights or reflectors. When Officers made contact with the male and identified him, his information was ran through Dispatch. Dispatch advised he had a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Fraudulent Use of Debit or Credit Device with a bond of $250. After speaking with the subject, he allowed Officers to search the property he had with him. After searching the property, Officers located several items of drug paraphernalia. Edward D. Miller, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Miller was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Missouri Is Eyeing State Fairgrounds Expansion

The Missouri State Fair currently sits on over 375 acres of land, but could expand by around 200 if the state makes an offer to purchase an adjacent plot. The state is working with State Fair Community College as well as Pettis County, the City of Sedalia and the fair itself on the acquisition of 400 acres located west of the fairgrounds. The current plan is to split the land evenly between the fair and the college.

BURGLARY SUSPECT HAS COURT PROCEEDING SET FOR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

A Sedalia man on parole for burglary and has been charged with another felony for allegedly burglarizing a Pettis County residence in July is due in court this week. According to a Pettis County deputy’s report, he responded to the report of somebody burglarizing a residence on Harding Road, and the resident said items taken included two firearms and a jewelry box.

Sedalia Woman Injured at 50 & 127

A Sedalia woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Pettis County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2007 Dodge, driven by 76-year-old Alice M. Schultz of Sedalia, was at US 50 & Route 127 at 2:45 a.m., when she pulled into the path of a westbound 2018 Ford F-150 towing a trailer, driven by 64-year-old Kevin T. Carpenter of Blue Springs.
