As University of Minnesota Reinstates Mask Mandate, Will North Dakota Schools do the Same?

The University of Minnesota announced the reinstatement of a mask mandate for all of the university's campuses. According to Star Tribune, the University of Minnesota announced today (August 2) that, starting August 3, students and staff at all of the university's campuses will be required to wear masks. If you remember what happened when the pandemic started, North Dakota seemed to follow Minnesota's coronavirus cues pretty closely. So, will North Dakota universities soon reinstate campuswide mask mandates?

$1 Billion North Dakota Water Pipeline Now Accepting Protesters

Groundbreaking is taking place Tuesday for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project (RRVWSP). It's been in the work for decades, now the Associated Press is reporting a ceremonial pipeline groundbreaking is planned for Tuesday near Carrington. The project is headed up by the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District. This time by "diversion", we mean pumping water from the Missouri River south of Washburn all the way across the state to Cooperstown on our east side.

“It’s All Yours” – Bismarck Capitals World Series Bound!

Just last Saturday, the Midwest Plains Regional Tournament - here in BisMan, was full of intense drama - Our Bismarck Capitals were down to their last 2 outs, behind 5-4 to the West Fargo 15-year olds, when a walk-off two-run single sent them to the championship game. This would be a re-match against Southeast Tropics, Missouri - the team that knocked them off 4-1 last Wednesday.

North Dakota Getting Smoked Out: What It Could Be Doing To Your Body?

We've had some unreal smoky conditions over North Dakota the last couple of weeks. Like I've never seen in my lifetime. Officials are warning us to limit our time outside because of unhealthy air. Even some outside events have been cancelled across North Dakota because of diminished air quality. Proving once again, every thing is weird and nothing is normal anymore.

Simone Biles to Compete in Final Balance Beam Competition

Simone Biles will compete in the final event of the women's Olympic gymnastics competition, the balance beam. The event will take place on Tuesday in Tokyo. "We are so excited to confirm that you will see two U.S. athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow - Suni Lee AND Simone Biles!!," the USA Gymnastics team said in a statement on Monday.

Pause for Paws!

Here in the Bismarck Mandan area we are fortunate to have 3 pet rescue organizations. Central Dakota Humane Society, Kitty City and Furry Friends Rocking Rescue are in the business of saving animals. They save cats and dogs and other animals and get them ready for adoption. Each organization relies on charitable donations to keep their places running. Thru out the year they hold many fundraisers. Here are just a couple of upcoming events.

Johnny Depp Wins Motion Against Amber Heard to Prove Donations From Divorce Settlement

Johnny Depp had a major legal victory in his attempt to disprove ex-wife Amber Heard's claim that she donated her divorce settlement to charity. On Friday (July 30), The Daily Mail reported that a judge on the New York Supreme Court granted 23 of 24 requests from the Pirates of the Caribbean star's "motion to compel." This means that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) must produceocuments confirming Heard's donations. The only motion that Judge Arthur Engoron denied was to reveal documents relating to Heard's role as "brand ambassador" for the ACLU.
