Willard Higgins, 89, of Willisville passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. Willard was born January 18, 1932, in West Salem, IL to the late Burley Joseph and Rena Fern (Heath) Higgins. He proudly served in the United States Army from July 12, 1950 to July 11, 1953 during the Korean Conflict and was a truck driver for Fowler Trucking.

Parker D. Cooper, age 26 of Texarkana, AR, formerly of Hope, AR, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Nashville, TN. He was born July 31, 1995 to Doug and Sondra in Texarkana. Parker often volunteered with Heritage Hospice and worked with the youth at Oasis Community Church in Texarkana. He was kind-hearted and will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Cooper.

Annie Mae Briggs, affectionately known as “Ms. Mae,” 78, of Stamps, formerly of Buckner, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. On May 4, 1943, Printis and Fannie Mae Biddle welcomed another baby girl into their already fast-growing family. They named her Annie Mae. Harvey, Hampton, Wilton Rayford, Bernice, Harold, Eugene, Horace, Herman and James were also awaiting her arrival. Printis and Fannie would then welcome Leon, Rollie Lee, and Bessie Mae to complete their family. Horace and Leon are now the only remaining siblings.

Former coach pleads guilty to sexual assault, faces victims in court

The speculation is over in the case against the former Lady Rattler coach charged with sexually abusing three students during his time at Murfreesboro High School. Charles “Si” J. Hornbeck, 38, had maintained his innocence in the case since his arrest in September 2020, but on Monday the former coach pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault.
