Gerald Tuck Kwai Wong, protector of family

Gerald Tuck Kwai Wong was born Dec. 14, 1940, at Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. He left us Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, to be reunited with his mother and father, Mary and Wallace Wong, and his wife of 13 years, Dr. Constance Wong (née Cox). He is survived by his son, Stacey (wife Jean); granddaughter, the beautiful Yuri Girl; sisters Valerie (husband David Sorensen) and Felice (husband Ed Broglio); and brother Stacey (wife Lorena). We all love and miss him.

Charles J. Keever of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Hebron, Nebraska, passed away September 2, 2021 in Honolulu. Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at Belvidere City Cemetery in Belvidere. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 12, from 2-5 p.m. at Price Funeral Home in Hebron. Masks are preferred.

Ronald 'Ron' Pelletier

Pelletier, Ronald "Ron" Ron Pelletier, 75, of Honolulu, HI, died peacefully at home on August 23, 2021 with his wife Chris at his side. Born in Waltham, MA on September 2, 1945. As 9/2/45 was VJ Day, the nurses suggested he be named Victor, but Ron's mother Marlene insisted on naming him for her favorite movie star, Ronald Reagan. A high school athlete, Ron was awarded a full baseball scholarship and graduated from Boston College with a degree in chemistry. He played pro baseball in the minor leagues of the NY Yankees. He began successful work in industrial/technical sales in New England, eventually settling in Hawaii in 1974. In Honolulu he had a long and productive career in sales, management, marketing and advertising, including leadership positions in media (TV, radio and publishing) and his own ad consultancy. An active sportsman, Ron was proud of his low golf handicap, his putting stroke and especially for finishing the Kona Ironman Triathlon in 1986. Survived by his wife Chris (née Ogle) of 38 years; by his sister Joan MacLeod of Buzzard's Bay, MA; by his sister-in-law Kathy Ogle (Val Ulstad) and brother-in-law John Ogle of Minnesota. Memorials may be made to the Blood Bank of Hawaii. A Celebration of Life will be held for Ron at a later date.

Rear Admiral Stewart Andrew Ring, USN

Rear Admiral Stewart Andrew Ring, USN (retired) of Waialua, HI, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 17, 2021, from heart disease. He was 87.
Stewart was born to a navy family in Coronado in 1933. He had a distinguished 32-year naval career, with deployments to the Pacific, then diplomatic and recruiting assignments to NATO, Council of Foreign Relations, the Pentagon, and Oahu’s Camp Smith, where he served as Director for Plans and Policy for the Pacific Command. He received numerous awards for superlative service. In 2020, he was honored to be included in Coronado’s Avenue of the Heroes.

Mindy Miranda Babchuk, 44, of Hilo died July 23 in Honolulu. Born in Germany, she worked at Bay Clinic Hilo and loved spending time with family and friends. Drive-thru celebration of life 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Dodo Mortuary carport. Face masks and social distancing required; no getting out of vehicle. Survived by sons, Frankie Degele IV and Ninoa Overtur-Babchuk of Hilo; mother, Pamela Alo of Hilo; father, Randy Babchuk of Arizona; brothers, Randy Babchuk Jr., Shawn Babchuk and Cody Babchuk of Arizona; sister, Shayna Rae Toledo of Missouri; a grandson; cousins. Michael Gordon Miller, 60, passed away on March 13, 2021, at Pearl Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii. Mike was born in Dillon, Montana, September 4, 1960. He is predeceased in death by his father Gordon Miller and survived by many friends and relatives including mother, Irene Miller, brother, Dave Miller, and sisters, Kim Miller, Chris Miller and Bev Huntsman.
