Tulsa city employees to receive new policy regarding COVID-19

TULSA, Okla. (KOKI) — The City of Tulsa is giving employees one month to be vaccinated or get an exemption from the city physician before a new hazard pay policy takes effect for anyone who tests positive for COVID-19. In an email to city employees, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum announced that unvaccinated employees who get sick with COVID-19 will not qualify for hazard pay if they test positive for the virus as it makes a resurgence in Green Country. He is also mandating that unvaccinated city employees must wear a mask when inside a city building. The new hazard pay policy will not begin until September 1st.

A Sand Springs man was arrested Monday after being charged with negligent homicide in a fatal collision that occurred last year on Oklahoma 97. Heverto Duran Jr., 23, is charged in connection with the June 21, 2020, death of John Franklin George, 55, of Mannford.
