New indictment filed for man accused of 2021 Evergreen Drive murder

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A man accused of the fatal shooting of Martin Jones on Evergreen Drive in October 2021 was indicted last week by a Wichita County Grand Jury. Noel Ramirez Martin, 33, of Vernon, is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. His bonds total $1,100,001.

OSBI offers reward for information on Comanche County cold case

COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla. (KSWO) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is prepared to offer a $5,000 reward for information regarding a Comanche County cold case. OSBI agents are currently searching for information on the murder of Ci’Lina Teira Bell-Deloney, 21, who was found dead in the middle of NW Paint Road in Cache.

Marvin Bennett, 75 of Vernon, Texas, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas.Services will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Western Trail Cowboy Church. under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Luke Morrison. Marvin was born on Oct. 25, 1946 in Lahaina, Hawaii. He was the son of the late Roscoe Bennett and the late Cecilia Kaniho Bennett. He married Claudia Jones on June 21, 1986 in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2022. He was a devoted husband, caring for her during their 36 years of marriage. Marvin proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his late wife, children and grandchildren. He was the owner of Marvin’s Transmissions, personally servicing customers throughout Texoma. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking and classic cars where you would see his gentle, patient, and kind nature. Marvin was an original member of the Western Trail Cowboy Church. He was involved in the initial stages of development for the church, devoting much time and effort, creating a place for the community to worship together where he gave his life to Jesus Christ and received water baptism from his friend and pastor, David Fox.Marvin is survived by his children, Marvin Brent Bennett and wife Tracy of Vernon, Tx., Kristi Charese Eidson and husband Jeff of Elkin, N.C., Michael Bennett of Frisco, Tx., Daniel Bennett and wife Gloria of Haslet, Tx., and Kayla Bearden and husband Rusty of Edmond, Okla.; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Bennett, Gabriella “Gigi” Kakouras, Alexandra Kakouras, Julia Anderson, Mallory Bennett, Landon Bennett, Travis Bennett and Natalie Lloyd.; his siblings Brad Bennett, Laverne Earls, Wayne Bennett and wife Beverly, and Merle Kromer and husband James. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Claudia Bennett and a daughter Christi Baker. Larry Albert Bachman, 80 of Vernon, Texas, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.Services will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.Larry was born Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1941 in Lockett, Tx. He was the son of the late Otto William Bachman, Sr. and the late Lydia Graf Bachman. He was a graduate of Lockett High School in 1960, and he was a graduate of Tarleton State, he was a member of the ROTC. He received his Master and Under Graduate from North Texas State University. He started teaching Industrial Art at Quanah High School and in 1970 he taught at Grapevine High School. He retired in 1993. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and he served on Zion BBQ and Sausage Committee. He was an avid hunter.Larry is survived by his son, Jeff Bachman of Fort Worth, Tx., daughter, Roxanne Foster of Arlington, Tx., his grandchildren Madison Foster, Jourdan Bachman and Laurel Foster. He is preceded in death by his brothers Otto Bachman, Jr., Robert W. Bachman, Dee Wayne Bachman and Heber Bachman, his sisters Nettie Heard, Madeline Williams, Ella Fenton, Mary Ellen Chalfant and a granddaughter Mia Brooke Bachman. Mississippi Man Sentenced to Thirty Years for Aggravated Kidnapping

Rather than face a jury that was waiting in the hall, Joshua Dale Southard, 31, of Ripley, Mississippi, changed his plea to guilty in a case of aggravated kidnapping that occurred in Vernon on February 19, 2022. As part of a plea bargain, Southard was sentenced to thirty years in prison for the aggravated kidnapping as well as ten years in prison for the offense of deadly weapon in a penal institution.

WFPD identifies motorcycle crash victim

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Wichita Falls Police Department has released the identity of the person killed in a motorcycle crash on Southwest Parkway over the weekend. Police say 24-year-old Marion Carson Lee Miser of Devol, Oklahoma was the driver of a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. He was found dead on the scene of the crash where Southwest Parkway turns to become northbound Henry S. Grace Freeway. Police say Miser was not wearing a helmet.
