NFHS to celebrate 50th anniversary of Title IX

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) celebrated its 100th anniversary two years ago, and among all the events that have occurred since 1920, perhaps nothing had a more positive impact on high school sports than the passage of Title IX of the Educational Amendments in 1972. Ironically,...

Regardless of future, multiple sports is best choice

The values of participating in high school activities — sports, speech and debate, music, theatre and other programs — are well-documented. A majority of the 12 million-plus participants in education-based activities have higher grade-point averages, are more disciplined and self-confident. In addition, research indicates that participation in high school activities is often a predictor of later success - in college, a career and becoming a contributing member of society.

Now that NIL ball is rolling downhill, can defense of amateurism at the high school level survive?

The 6-6 wing made the top 30 — the “cream of the crop,” as it’s known — at the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas. When the camp was finished, all 30 of the recruits were gifted a non-fungible token (NFT) — a looping highlight video that acts as a digital trading card — by BallerTV, the company that broadcast the camp.

Meet Pennsylvania’s top college prospects at quarterback in the Class of 2022

Beau Pribula first jumped on to the radar as a freshman, and back then the Penn State commit wasn’t playing quarterback. His brother, Cade, who is currently playing for Delaware, was the guy under center, but Beau was a big-time, even then, at receiver and safety. And, while there was a good indication he would eventually end up at quarterback when his brother went off to college, he was in PennLive’s first couple rankings as an “athlete.” He was that good of an athlete, and some of those skills — his ability to run and create with his legs — have translated well to his style of play at quarterback.
