Carrollton Man Arrested For Drugs, Stolen Property, And Traffic Issues

A Carrollton man was arrested Monday morning in Ray County on a lengthy list of charges that goes from drugs to stolen property to traffic violations. According to the arrest report from Troop A of the Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Carrollton resident Joseph D. Grieme was arrested at 9:04 A.M. Monday on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, not having a valid drivers license, failing to drive on the right half of a roadway, and failing to display valid license plates.

Two Lafayette County residents were moderately injured in a two-vehicle accident in Johnson County on Saturday, October 1. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 51-year-old David Hill of Concordia, crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Heather Poynter of Higginsville. Hill’s vehicle ran off the roadway and came to rest facing west, while Poynter’s vehicle overturned and came to rest on the roadway.

KNOB NOSTER MAN INJURED IN MULTI-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN JOHNSON COUNTY

A Knob Noster man was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Johnson County on Monday, October 3. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 35-year-old Justin Howard struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Richell Hostetler of Knob Noster, causing Hostetler’s vehicle to strike the rear of a vehicle driven by Jennifer Ownes, also of Knob Noster. Both Hostetler and Ownes were stopped to make a left turn. Howard then crossed the center of the roadway striking a truck driven by Jeffrey Biggs of Sedalia head on.

SLATER MAN CHARGED WITH A FELONY FOR ASSAULT

A Slater man was charged with a felony for assault after an incident on Sunday, October 2. According to a probably causes statement, a Saline County Sheriff deputy was dispatched to a Slater residence in regard to a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, authorities made contact with the victim, who reportedly had a swollen face with a large lump on her forehead. Authorities also stated the woman had bruising and was bleeding.

The Little Victories I Observed While at the License Office in Warrensburg

Life can be difficult and sometimes it's the little victories that can make a difference. My little victory on Friday was getting in and out of the license office in Warrensburg in about 30 minutes. It was fairly quick, especially for the last day of the month when procrastinators like me all needed to get new tags to keep our vehicles legal. I was also treated to a few other little victories while I was hanging out and waiting in line.

Resurfacing Of Route Z

Resurfacing work on Route Z in Livingston and Carroll County will continue through Friday before contractors switch to a project Between Carrollton and DeWitt. MoDOT Contractor Emery Sapp & Sons is resurfacing Route Z between US 65 in Carroll and Livingston Counties. The project will pause at the end of the day Friday and the contractor will move to US 24 between Carrollton and DeWitt until that resurfacing job is complete. That work is expected to be done around October 17th.
