Gun arrest at Urbana Carnival in Frederick County Friday night

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A 19-year-old Hagerstown man was arrested Friday night for allegedly bringing a gun to the Urbana Carnival in Frederick County. Marquis Desade Scottland was seen wearing a shoulder bag with "the distinct outline of a handgun, which could be seen through the bag," at about 9:30 p.m., according to a press release.

One person dead, another injured in Fauquier County fire

One person was found dead and another injured after a structure fire late Friday in Bealeton. Fire crews were called to the blaze in the 7000 block of Catlett Road just before 9:30 p.m. The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office says one person was found dead inside the building and a second was taken to Fauquier Hospital for treatment.

William Tyler Beck, age 30, of Centreville, Maryland, pleaded guilty today to coercion and enticement of a minor. The plea was announced by Acting United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Jonathan F. Lenzner; Special Agent in Charge James R. Mancuso of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Baltimore and Colonel Woodrow W. Jones III, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police.

Montgomery County Police: Two Suspects Charged for December 2020 Armed Home Invasion Robbery in Bethesda

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged Khalil Powers Zalmai (left picture), age 19, of the 6600 block of River Road in Bethesda with home invasion and armed robbery-related offenses for the December 11, 2020, armed home invasion robbery that occurred in Bethesda. Jaylen Gary Hunter (right picture) age 20, of the 13600 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring, was previously charged and arrested for crimes related to this armed home invasion robbery. Investigators continue to work to identify two additional suspects in this crime.

Swimmer injured after jumping 20-30 feet into North East Creek in Cecil County

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A swimmer was airlifted to Shock Trauma Friday afternoon after jumping 20-30 feet from a rock into the water at Gilpin's Falls in North East, Cecil County. Maryland State Police said the swimmer was injured during the jump into North East Creek, and had to be extricated using an aerial hoist rescue with the help of a helicopter.

Maryland Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography

Tyler Curtis, age 24, of Hampstead, Maryland, pleaded guilty today to the possession of more than 300 illegal images and videos of child pornography on his cell phone. Curtis was previously convicted of the promotion and distribution of child pornography in 2017 within the Circuit Court of Carroll County, Maryland and was subsequently required to register as a sex offender.

Maryland man killed in single-car crash in King George

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Maryland man has died after a single-car crash in King George County on Friday. Virginia State Police say Kig W. Chan, 61, of Potomac, Md. was behind the wheel of a 2010 Ford F-150 headed west on Dahlgren Road when it ran off the right hand side of the road and struck a curb.
