Ribbon cutting for Helpful Things takes place in Hope-Hempstead Chamber offices Thursday

Since Helpful Things LLC is an online business, the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce held its ribbon cutting at the Chamber’s offices Thursday morning. Before the cut was made, owner Benny Kingsby told of how taking Lifevantage supplements helped him heal after a 2019 cancer surgery. Several times, he said, his wife had to drive him to the hospital for treatment of complications. He said after he made a prayer, “that’s when I was introduced to my sponsor.” His sponsor recommended he take LifeVantage supplements. After a month, he said, his health had improved.

Local Man Arrested for Cruelty to Animals

William R. Bill Montgomery age 53, was arrested at approximately 4:25 pm Monday on a warrant issued by Circuit Judge Duncan Culpepper for Cruelty to Animals, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Mr. Montgomery was booked into the Hempstead County Jail at approximately 5:19 pm he appeared before Circuit Judge Duncan Culpepper and was released at approximately 7:05 PM.

Heather Manor Hosts Community Coffee

Heather Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation hosted the Community Coffee at the Chamber this morning and had quite the turnout. With a fabulous spread which included chicken wings and meatballs too tempting for anyone to pass up, plus cool, sweet refreshments, participants enjoyed sampling the feast while visiting with others in the community.

Hope Post Office Food Drive

This Saturday May 14th the Hope Post Office will hold their annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive. All donations will stay in Hempstead County. Simply bag non-perishable food items and leave them hanging on your mailbox or under your mailbox. P.O. Box customers can drop donations off at the front desk of the Hope Post office or the post office in your community.

Accident at Exit 18 Westbound

The Arkansas State Police, Fulton VF Do, and Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident on I-30 westbound at Exit 18 shortly after 6:30pm Monday. At least one person was taken to a Texarkana hospital.

Hempstead County Bicentennial Marker Unveiled in Hope

The Bicentennial Marker for the city of Hope was unveiled Saturday during Train Day. Stop by to see the marker at the intersection of Walnut and Division streets. Hope police log

On May 5, 2022 at approximately 7:00pm, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested a female juvenile of Hope, AR. The female juvenile was arrested and charged with domestic battery in the 2nd degree. The arrest occurred in the 1300 block of Old Experiment Station Road in Hope, AR. The juvenile was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.

County Clerk Updates Lions On Voting

Hempstead County Clerk and Lion Karen Smith gave the Hope Lions an update on voting Monday. She noted early voting is now underway and will continue through May 23rd. Early voting is underway weekdays 8am until 6pm through May 22nd. Monday May 23rd early voting ends at 5pm. You can also early vote Saturdays 10am until 4pm.
