State Police investigate shooting in Breathitt County

LOST CREEK, Ky. (WYMT) - Troopers with Kentucky State Police say they were called to a shooting on Upper River Caney Road in the Lost Creek Community Sunday evening. Troopers say they found Matthew White, who had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. White was transported to U.K. Medical Center for treatment.

McDOWELL, Ky. — The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a man caught on camera stealing from cars. The sheriff’s office released video of the man taking parts and items from vehicles at Frasure’s Creek in McDowell. The incident happened around 7 o’clock Sunday morning.

No mask requirement for Harlan County schools; Decision will be left up to students, parents

Students of the Harlan County schools will not be required to wear masks while at school this year. In a unanimous vote, the Harlan County School Board voted to adopt the Safe Return to Schools Plan. While the plan does recommend that students that are not vaccinated wear masks, it will not be required. That decision will be left up to the individual students and their parents. The exception to this will be while students are traveling on the district’s school buses.
