In a letter dated September 16th to Moshe Property Management of Great Neck, New York, the city outlined the numerous code violations at the strip mall and gave the company one last 60-day notice to either bring the shopping center up to code or face the consequences.

The Huff-N-Puffers (Ashland Fast-pitch Chapter) Senior Softball Organization recently completed its 15th season. Doubleheaders consisted of two age divisions — Seniors (ages 65 and over) at 4:30 p.m., and Juniors (ages 55-64) at 6:30 p.m. Games were played weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Brookside Main, beginning after Memorial Day and ending before Labor Day.

Mansfield man, 68, dies in single-vehicle crash

TROY TOWNSHIP — A Mansfield man is dead after his vehicle ran off the road Saturday night and struck a large tree head-on, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol. Frank Pointer, 68, of Mansfield, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Hanley Road around 10:14 p.m. Saturday when his car drifted left of center. The driver attempted to correct the direction of the vehicle but lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking several mailboxes and a traffic sign before crashing head-on into a large tree, the patrol said in a news release.
