Domestic battery charged filed against Nashville area woman

Domestic Battery charges have been filed against a Nashville area woman. Pike County Sheriff’s deputies say 40 year old Michelle Marie Miller is charged with second degree domestic battery. Authorities began an investigation in June, after receiving information regarding possible abuse involving a minor child. While visiting with the minor, deputies say the child showed them whelp marks on the juvenile’s back. Deputies say the child also had other visible injuries to the face and arm.

Nashville man arrested for 5th DWI

A Nashville man arrested in July has been charged with a felony D.W.I., along with several misdemeanor counts. Arkansas State Police say a vehicle driven by 52 year old Joel David Wakefield, was stopped on Highway 27 South of Nashville, for driving 90 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. As state police approached the vehicle, troopers said they detected the odor of intoxicants coming from Wakefield’s vehicle. He was eventually transported to the Howard County Jail, where it was determined his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Oklahoma Health Department detects West Nile virus pools in two counties

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Department of Health says it has detected positive West Nile virus pools in two counties in the eastern part of the state. Health officials said the department's Mosquito Surveillance Program detected the pools in Muskogee and Le Flore counties. Multiple weeks of detection in two different counties is an indicator that West Nile virus activity is present in Oklahoma, according to a news release.
