More rain today added to the extreme totals we have seen this past week. Some areas in south central Harrison County saw an estimated 13 to 16 inches of rainfall over the past six days. Many other areas through Harrison and Jackson Counties picked up seven to eleven inches of rainfall. When we see sunshine, it will be hot and humid. Rain chances for Thursday will be at 50%, while chances go up slightly for Friday to a 60% chance. Any additional heavy rainfall will lead to possible flash flooding. We keep rain chances in the forecast for the next several days, but the rain chances do seem lower heading into next week. Tropical Storm Elsa made landfall earlier today near the Big Bend area of Florida. It is now heading toward South Carolina expected to drop heavy and flooding rainfall as it moves up the East Coast.
