Police warning of scam at Dover restaurant

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are warning businesses of a scam that happened at a restaurant on Monday. We’re told that just before 3 p.m., the restaurant received a call from someone claiming to be with the U.S. Marshals Service, stating that they were investigating a claim of counterfeit money being given out by the restaurant as change. The caller reportedly told the manager that they would be at the business within 30 minutes to inspect the cash and to have money out of the drawer.

Harrington Police: Burglary Suspect Caught Red-handed

HARRINGTON, Del.- Harrington police say officers arrested a man after they caught him red-handed carrying items stolen in a home burglary. Police said that shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, officers were called to a home on the 100 block of Dorman Street for a report of a suspicious person. While on their way to the home, officers were told that the suspect, later identified as Mitchell L. Harding, 37, of Harrington, was attempting to break into a home. Officers arrived and observed Harding outside of the home carrying items he just taken from it, according to police.

HARRINGTON, Del. – A Harrington man is behind bars after police say he broke into a house and fled on foot Monday evening. At around 5:15 p.m., officers on patrol were called to a residence in the 100 block of Dorman Street for a report of a suspicious person. Officers were advised that the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Mitchell Harding, was trying to break into a residence.

The Delaware State Police this week were investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday evening northeast of Millsboro. According to the DSP, the incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, as a trooper on patrol was driving southbound on Gravel Hill Road behind a blue 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata was allegedly traveling above the posted speed limit, police said, and upon coming to a stop at the intersection with Mount Joy Road, signaled to turn right onto Morris Mill Road, but allegedly made an abrupt turn left onto Mount Joy Road.
