26-Year-Old Maryland Woman Says She Killed 92-Year-Old Roommate Nancy Anne Frankel, Police Say

KENSINGTON, Md. (WJZ) — A 26-year-old Maryland woman was charged with first-degree murder after she admitted to killing her 92-year-old roommate, Montgomery County police said. First responders were called to a home on Spruell Drive in Kensington around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday for a death investigation. When they arrived, Julia Birch told officers she killed her elderly roommate, Nancy Ann Frankel. Frankel’s body was found inside the home. Police called homicide detectives to investigate the possible murder. Evidence on the scene revealed that Birch allegedly killed her roommate and she was taken into custody. Montgomery County Police interviewed Birch at their headquarters and that’s when she admitted to calling 911 after killing Frankel. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday to determine the cause and manner of death. Birch was charged with first-degree murder and she is being held without bond. Birch was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with First Degree Murder. She is being held without bond.

Montgomery County Police: Two Suspects Charged for December 2020 Armed Home Invasion Robbery in Bethesda

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged Khalil Powers Zalmai (left picture), age 19, of the 6600 block of River Road in Bethesda with home invasion and armed robbery-related offenses for the December 11, 2020, armed home invasion robbery that occurred in Bethesda. Jaylen Gary Hunter (right picture) age 20, of the 13600 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring, was previously charged and arrested for crimes related to this armed home invasion robbery. Investigators continue to work to identify two additional suspects in this crime.

Suspect In The Death Of His Two-Year-Old Ordered Held Without Bond

His wife was granted a secured bond. Frederick, Md (KM) A Mount Airy man charged along with his wife for killing their two-month-old son is being held without bond. The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says Jeremy Whitney Frazier, 34, was extradited from Adams County, Pennsylvania to Maryland. He had a bond hearing on Thursday where he was ordered held without bond, and sent to the Adult Detention Center. The State had argued that Jeremy Frazier be held without bond.

Maryland Man Sentenced to More Than 11 Years in Federal Prison for Possession of Child Pornography

– U.S. District Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher today sentenced Jeffrey John White, age 53, of Woodsboro, Maryland, to 133 months in federal prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release, for possession of child pornography. At the time of his federal offense, White was on supervised probation for a previous conviction for similar conduct in Montgomery County Circuit Court. Judge Gallagher ordered White to pay a $5,000 special assessment and $3,000 in restitution. Judge Gallagher also ordered that White must continue to register as a sex offender in the places where he resides, where he is an employee, and where he is a student, under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
