Victim shoots back as thief takes off with her car

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - “The only thing she heard was not my car, bang bang bang bang, and that was it. She initially thought something happened to me,” the victim said. It was about an hour before this grocery store delivery driver was able to call her mother back to tell her she was not the one in front of the gun.

Man fatally shot, found on 7th Ward porch, New Orleans police say

A man was fatally shot Thursday morning in the 7th Ward, New Orleans police said. The shooting was reported to police at 7:24 a.m. at a home near the intersection of North Prieur and St. Anthony streets (map). Officers said they found a man on the porch of the home. He had been shot, they said, and died at the scene.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z's Mansion Hit By Suspected Arson

A fire at a New Orleans mansions believed to be owned by Beyoncé and Jay-Z is being investigated as "simple arson." According to the New Orleans Police Department, the historic house in the city's Garden District — which is owned by Tina Knowles' Sugarcane Park LLC — caught fire around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The one-alarm blaze reportedly took 22 firefighters 2 hours to put out though, thankfully, there were no reported injuries or evacuations.

A man was fatally shot in the 7th Ward says the New Orleans Police Department. The homicide happened at about 7:24 a.m. Thursday morning at the intersection of N. Prieur and St. Anthony Streets. Initial reports say officers found an unresponsive male on the porch of a residence and having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.
