Mason City man sentenced for Hancock County bar fight

GARNER, Iowa – A Mason City man accused of attacking four people during a bar fight pleads guilty. Jamie Lee Paulsen, 36, took a plea deal to one count of assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor, and has been sentenced to seven days in jail and fined $430.

Three men convicted over fight at Hancock County campground

GARNER, Iowa - A final sentence is handed down for a campground disturbance in Hancock County. Troy Dennis Julius, 50 of Buffalo Center, pleaded guilty to assault causing serious injury and has been ordered to spend three years on supervised probation, pay a $1,025 fine, and pay $3,706.94 in restitution to the victim.

Broadside collision in Hancock County

A Clear Lake woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 69, south of Garner, about 3:20 p.m., Friday, July 22. According to the Iowa Highway Patrol, 16-year-old Kaden Buckley, of Ventura, was driving a 2018 Chevy pick-up truck eastbound on 190th Street and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of 190th and Highway 18. The truck struck a 2019 Subaru driven by Sharon M. Schneider, 79, of Clear Lake, broadside in the middle of the driver’s side.

(ABC 6 News) - A Clear Lake, IA woman is dead after a car crash in Hancock County on Friday afternoon. Sharon Schneider, 79, was traveling northbound on Hwy 69 south of Garner when another vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male from Ventura, IA was heading eastbound on 190th St., failed to stop at the stop sign, entered the intersection, striking Schneider's vehicle broadside.

GARNER, Iowa – A Cerro Gordo County woman is dead after a collision in Hancock County. It happened around 3:20 pm Friday at the intersection of 190th Street and Highway 68 south of Garner. The Iowa State Patrol says Kaden Buckley, 16 of Ventura, was driving east and failed to stop at the stop sign, entered the intersection and hit the northbound vehicle driven by Sharon Schneider, 79 of Clear Lake.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at about 3:20 PM at 190th Street and US Highway 69 south of Garner. 79-year-old Sharon Schneider of Clear Lake was traveling northbound when a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Kaden Buckley of Ventura failed to stop at the stop sign while traveling eastbound. It entered the intersection and struck Schneider’s vehicle broadside. Schneider sustained fatal injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
