2022 Ford Fireworks On June 27: Here’s What To Know

(CBS DETROIT) — The sky will be filled with bright colors once again for the 64th annual Ford Fireworks. The show returns to downtown Detroit at about 10 p.m. on June 27 for an in-person viewing with the theme “Hey Detroit, The Sky Shines for You!” For the last two years, the show was held with no crowd at the Lake St. Clair Metropark due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year’s show will feature more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the Detroit River. Police: Intoxicated motorcyclist clocked at over 115 mph during chase

TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - Police arrested a motorcyclist after a chase topping 100 mph was terminated in Tuscola County over the weekend. A deputy with the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office allegedly caught the 42-year-old New Haven man traveling at 103 mph near the intersection of M-46 and Kirk Road on Saturday.

19-year-old killed in St. Clair County crash

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one-car crash in Cottrellville Township that resulted in the death of the driver. The preliminary investigation showed the vehicle, a 2011 Ford Escape, was going southbound on McKinley Road at about 10:33 p.m. June 25 and lost control near Markel Road, officials from the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The vehicle rolled over, and the driver, a 19-year-old Clay Township man, was ejected from the vehicle.

MSP Investigating After Man Shot On Lodge Freeway

(CBS DETROIT) – Michigan State Police are investigating after a man reported he was shot on the Lodge Freeway early on Sunday. At 1:26 a.m. on June 26, troopers were dispatched to Detroit Receiving Hospital after the man reported he had been shot. According to police, the man said he was leaving a party on Outer Drive near Sinai-Grace Hospital when he noticed a crossover-type vehicle following him. The man entered the Lodge at Meyers, heading southbound in the left lane, and then the suspect in the other vehicle started shooting at him. Police say the man’s vehicle was struck several times, and the man was struck twice on his right side. MSP recovered the victim’s vehicle and towed it to the post for processing. Mother charged with murder, torture in death of 3-year-old son found in freezer

DETROIT – The mother of a 3-year-old boy who was found dead in a freezer last week is charged with murder and other crimes related to the child’s death, authorities said. Azuradee France, 31, is charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse, torture, and concealing the death of an individual, according to a news release from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
