The Keokuk Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a suspect in the Saturday, July 31 shooting incident that ended in a crash on S. Seventh Street. FORT MADISON – A charitable group wants to build homes for veterans in Fort Madison, possibly using dilipated properties for the new tiny homes. The 2x4s for Hope is a charity founded by Mark and Chris Lawrence in Quincy to build the small homes for veterans struggling with finding a place to live.

Gunfire causes crashes in Keokuk

Keokuk, IA- Police in Keokuk are seeking information regarding multiple shootings that took place on South 7th street Saturday night. The Pen City Current reports that at about 8:31 PM Saturday, Keokuk Police responded to a report of a crash in the 1400 block of South 7th Street. An investigation revealed that the incident started in the 1000 block of Palen street. During the incident, an occupant of one of the vehicles involved in the wreck got out and approached the other car, then shots were allegedly fired.

ST. PAUL -- The enhanced unemployment benefits will come to an end one month from Wednesday. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says if you are receiving the unemployment benefits through Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation, or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, and are receiving an additional $300 a week on top of your regular unemployment benefits, the last week those additional benefits will be available is the week ending September 4th.
