Police seek 2 men charged in connection with Pottstown homicide

NORRISTOWN, Pa. – Montgomery County authorities have issued arrest warrants for two men connected to a fatal shooting in Pottstown over the weekend. Officials say Samir Bentley, of Philadelphia, shot and killed 27-year-old Robert Stiles around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Montgomery County district attorney's office. Bentley is wanted on multiple charges, including first- and third-degree murder.

Assault Serious Bodily Injury – On Sept. 3, 2021 at 9:34 a.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to the Good Samaritan Hospital Rehabilitation Unit on the 900 block of Frystown Rd. in the City of Lebanon for an assault report. The report comes from the Department of Aging. The investigation is ongoing. The Victim was a 70 year old Fredericksburg man.

Fraud activity leaps in Spring Township

SPRING TWP., Pa. – During a relatively quick meeting Monday night, supervisors in Spring learned that the township continues to be under siege by fraud and forgery activity. Deputy Police Chief Stephen Powell informed the board that year-to-date complaints had jumped from 80 in 2020 to 242 at the end of September 2021. Most of the fraud complaints continue to be related to attempts to use residents' information to collect unearned unemployment compensation.

Reading to break ground on new fire station [Map]

Reading is ready to break ground on a state-of-the-art fire station that will replace the city’s oldest fire station. City Council voted Monday night to award the final construction contract for the project. Council voted 7-0 to award Myerstown-based Shannon A. Smith Inc. the HVAC contract for just over $1 million for the new Ninth and Marion Fire Station.
