Cambridge Man Pleads Guilty to Murder Charges in Connection with the Death of 4-year-old boy

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — A Cambridge man has entered an “Alford Plea” in connection with the death of 4-year-old boy in March of 2021. According to Guernsey County Prosecutor Lindsey Angler, 26-year-old Alexander Wells was sentenced in Guernsey County Common Pleas Court on Friday to 20 years to life on charges of murder, felonious assault and failure to register as a sex offender. 4-year-old Emrys Pyle died in March of 2021 from head injuries sustained in a Wheeling Avenue apartment that a local doctor classified as major blunt force trauma. Wells will now be sent to prison to serve his sentence.

SENECAVILLE, Ohio – Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey Paden reported that deputies and detectives from his office, along with Homeland Security Investigators executed an arrest warrant at a Mill Street home in Senecaville Wednesday morning.
