Updated: Two-Vehicle Accident in Atlantic

(Atlantic) Atlantic Police Officers, Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Cass EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at 3rd and Linn Streets. Tim Olsen with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 11:53 a.m. “A southbound 2020 Jeep Renegade ran the stop sign at 3rd and Linn Streets and struck an eastbound 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The driver of the Jeep Renegade was evaluated on scene by medics and released. The driver of the Jeep Renegade was also cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.”

AHSTW Educationally Staffed for the 2022-2023 School Year

(Avoca) The AHSTW School District starts the school year with an entire educational staff. Schools Superintendent Darin Jones says the district had a few departures and added some teaching positions in different areas. “The one position we’ve been extensively looking for is an early childhood preschool teacher,” said Jones. “We are fortunate we had a candidate with interest, and her name is Monica Fichter, and the School Board approved Fichter’s contract at a Special meeting on Monday night.

CAM School Board accepts Bid for School Owned Property

(Anita) CAM Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan says the school board accepted Wahlert Construction’s bid to sell a school-owned property near the Anita Campus. Croghan says four separate entities submitted bids for the property located four blocks south of the main campus in Anita. The board accepted Wahlert’s offer of $26,500. “We have not used this property for quite some time,” said Croghan. “There was some interest, so we listed it with a realtor, received four bids, and the board moved forward with the bid from Wahlert Construction.”

(KMAland) -- The final state champion bowling team from the Hawkeye Ten to get honored is the Lewis Central girls squad. The Titans took on all challengers in 2021-22 with conference wins over Denison-Schleswig (2555-2524), Red Oak (2392-1852), Creston (2799-2003), Shenandoah (2963-2145). They were also the Council Bluffs City Meet champs and took first at the Hawkeye Ten Conference.
